South Africa is one of Africa’s largest economies and has been identified as a key emerging market. The government has been working to revive the national economy through education and training and so energising the economy and fuelling job creation are key priority areas. The government as also recognised the need to invest in education for South Africa’s expanding young population. Education is one of three main pillars of the 2030 National Development Plan.
South Africa has 23 public universities, 50 TVET colleges and a myriad of private higher education institutions offering a wide range of programmes and courses. In 2012, a total of 657 690 learners enrolled in TVET colleges across South Africa.
As part of our on-going commitment to skills development Evolve Global Solutions Ltd has been working with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to support 4 South African TVET Colleges to make improvements in the following areas of their work:

- Leadership and management
- Employer engagement
- Teacher Development
- Curriculum development
- Career guidance and employability
- Skills Competition – participation in World Skills
